Mission

The Environmental Planning Department administers all land use planning functions at local government level.  We insure measures are implemented to provide for efficiency and adequacy of services and protection of public health and safety.

Responsibilities

This department provides a full range of services to assist the integration of development and utilization of the natural resources, while protecting the natural environment.  We perform subdivision review, floodplain review  and we also assign rural addresses, maintain the County mapping system and serve as the planning section for Incident Command during County emergencies.  Administration of the Montana Subdivision and Platting Act, and Broadwater County Floodplain Administration also are our responsibility.
