COMMISSIONERS’S MEETING

SEPTEMBER 26, 2005

The meeting of the Broadwater County Commissioners was called to order by chairman James V. Hohn. Present were Commissioner Steven R. McCullough and Commissioner Elaine M. Mann.

Bob will be putting in an advertisement regarding the county grader for bids, as trade-in. He will leave a packet of information for those interested in the county finance officer’s office.

Morrison and Maierle, Inc. are putting a proposal together regarding the petition for Dunbar Road and estimates for the impact fee program.

Bob said he has received a complaint regarding the cattle guard on Dry Gulch. The Commissioners want a letter sent to Mr. England to either fix or remove the cattle guard.

Terry Frost called Bob Masolo, regarding his subdivision roads. Bob said the roads are not up to county specifications.

The Commissioners want to see the current policy for a car gate (cattle guard), the 30-day requirements adjust to 10 days. Also for emergency reasons, the Commissioners want the road foreman to have authority to remove or fill in cattle guards and their needs to be a requirement for a pass gate, unless variance issued by the County Commissioners.

The Commissioners want the Road & Bridge encroachment permits updated.

Bill said the project is moving along very well and will be getting project estimates in.

Bill would like to get prison industry to build communication towers because the grant does not include construction cost. All we would have to do is pay for material. This would decrease cost significantly.

Mr. Ravndal wants the Commissioners to adopt Roadless Area Task Force resolution that he prepared. Mr. Ravndal wants the Commissioners blessing to move forward on whites Gulch Road issues with forest Service.

After a discussion Commissioner McCullough motioned to approve the variance,

Commissioner Mann did not second the motion, the deciding vote went to Commissioner Hohn who did second the motion and the motion was carried.

Commissioner McCullough motioned to accept the preliminary plat for approval as presented however, striking item 6. Commissioner Mann seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. (See Attachment)

 

Commissioner McCullough, spoke not as a Commissioner but as a private citizen, regarding residential hangers, he suggested asking to Ernie Carlson to change the location of his hanger. Commissioner Hohn suggested sending a letter of cease and desists and send a copy of the letter to County Attorney, John Flynn.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 pm, the next Commissioners meeting is scheduled for October 3, 2005 at 10:00am in the Commissioners room in the Courthouse.
