Sec. 3.03 County
Administrator
The county administrator shall:
- be employed by the county commissioners;
- abide by the same laws, Charter, ordinances,
resolutions, and policies as the county commissioners;
- provide day–to–day operations and communications
with staff, volunteer groups, boards, and citizens;
- attend weekend, night events and meetings, when
possible and needed, to provide assistance
to the local government and the public;
- research and complete grants that will benefit Broadwater County;
- assist as needed in budget issues;
- provide commissioners with additional issues and
concerns of staff and citizens;
- be liaison between county commissioners and
citizens and officials;
- research new and proposed projects and provide
information and briefs to commissioners, citizens and staff;
- help with excessive workload of staff and
officials;
- conduct monthly staff meetings with all
department heads and other elected officials;
- receive all other duties as assigned.
Sec. 3.04 Qualifications for County Administrator
The County Administrator
shall:
- demonstrate proficiency in administration, management,
finance; or a sufficient number of years of experience in these fields;
- have excellent communication, human resource
skills;
- have or be willing to develop grant writing
skills;
- have a strong sense of community;
- provide a resume.
Sec. 3.05 Appointment of County Administrator
- This position shall be appointed by the county
commissioners after being advertised for no less than four weeks.
- Appointment is the sole responsibility of the
county commissioners but the interview process may be commissioned to an
objective group of citizens for preliminary review and recommendation.
- Base salary with benefits shall be established pursuant
to other county staff.
