COMMISSIONERS’S MEETING     

January 8, 2007                                                                                                                       

 

Commissioner James V. Hohn called the meeting of the Broadwater County Commissioners to order.  Present were Commissioner K.C. Lynn and Commissioner Gail M. Vennes

 

  • Greg Jackson, Marketing Director for Montana Association of Counties Joint Powers Insurance Authority, (MACo/JPIA) and Julie Zipperian with Centennial Insurance met with the Commissioners regarding the Insurance Trusts Mid-Policy Year Visit. (See Attachments)

 

  • Tim Pool, Solid Waste Supervisor, met with the Commissioners to discuss the County policy concerning renting coveralls vs. having a clothing allowance.  The Commissioners asked Tim to provide them with justification for and a cost estimate for purchasing or renting either coveralls or a two-piece set with boots for both himself and Steve Cordova.

 

Tim also updated the Commissioners on the function of the new gate at the transfer station site.  The gate does work slowly and the gate remote doesn’t work as well as Tim would like. Tim is also concerned that in the summer when the gate is locked, residents may leave their trash at the gate entrance.

 

Commissioner Hohn suggested to Tim to look into possibly using web cams for both dumpsites

 

  • Nichole Brown, County Planning Secretary, met with the Commissioners regarding Preliminary Plat Approval of the Amended Plat of the Quiet Subdivision, Tract 7 Minor Subdivision.

 

Commissioner Vennes made a motion to approve the application for the Preliminary Plat Approval of the Amended Plat of the Quiet Subdivision, Tract 7 Minor Subdivision with conditions.  Commissioner Lynn seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.  (See Attachment)

 

  • Mail/Items for Discussion/Action

 

§         Natalie Tomeo, County Finance Officer, provided the Commissioners with the Road Maintenance Supervisor job description.

 

§         Natalie also provided the Commissioners with a copy of a preliminary resolution for the Personal Policy Packet regarding county cell phone use to look over.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00pm, the next Commissioners meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2007 at 10:00am in the Commissioners room located in the basement of the Courthouse.
