    The Commercial Hotel was built by William and Mary Pierce in 1889.
    The Original train depot was just across the street.
    The hotel became a favorable stop among business travelers,hence acquired its name, "The Commercial"
    C.D.W. Smith bought the hotel in 1909 and increased the building from 12 to 40 rooms.
